Glenda Paul (FP) SA

Glenda has always had a sense of purpose and wanting to make a difference in her community. She was a volunteer at her local hospital whilst completing her schooling on the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast. In 1994, she worked in rural KwaZulu-Natal as an election worker for the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) in the first democratic election in South Africa.

In 1995, Glenda enlisted in the newly amalgamated South African Police Service and reported for the first fully integrated police training held in Pretoria. In 1996, Glenda received the Outstanding Performance Award for her contribution to policing in the Umkomaas district (award issued from the KZN Minister of Safety & Security, Mr N Singh MEC). Her last posting was in the elite Johannesburg Flying Squad where she served from 1997-1999.

In 2000, Glenda joined the private sector where she worked for 10 years in fraud and financial restitution duties at two of South Africa's largest retail banks and for South Africa's largest private bank. Glenda joined IRS Forensic Investigations as a director at the end of 2009.

Glenda was one of five women chosen for the Legal and Justice category of the 2019 Mail & Guardian “Women Changing South Africa” which was featured on 30 August 2019. Glenda was previously featured as one of three women in law enforcement in the February 2016 edition of Women and Home Magazine.

Glenda was a recipient of the 2019 South African Security Industry Bravery Award.

Glenda has qualifications in Corporate Governance from University of Pretoria, Cyber Crime Law and Management from University of Pretoria, Anti-Corruption and Commercial Crime Investigation from the University of South Africa, Financial Management from WITS Business School, a Forensic Auditing qualification from UNISA, and Money Laundering Investigation and Detection from University of Pretoria.

Glenda holds the designation “Forensic Practitioner” from the Institute of Commercial Forensic Practitioners, is registered as a private investigator with PSIRA, and is recognised by the International Association of Financial Crimes Investigators as a financial crime’s investigator and credit card fraud specialist.

Glenda has been involved in law enforcement in both the public and private sector for the past 3 decades.

Chad Thomas

Chad holds a post graduate certificate in International Criminal Law from the Mandela Institute at the Wits School of Law, a certificate in Corporate Fraud Management from the South African Institute of Corporate Fraud Management, various courses in combating fraud and corruption from the University of Pretoria, has completed the Corporate and Ethics Governance program at the University of Pretoria, as well as the POPIA program at the University of Pretoria. He also holds a diploma in security management from DMS.

Chad was previously the GM of Stallion Investigations, a division of Stallion Security. Prior to that, Chad was employed as head of investigations for BoE Private Bank (insurance and FG division), and before that head of security at Standard Bank Property Fund Managers.

Chad served in an investigation and intelligence capacity in the permanent force of the South African National Defence Force until the end of 1994 and remained an active member of the Reserve Force until 2008.

Chad is a 32-year veteran of security and law enforcement in South Africa. He is the recipient of the security industry’s 2019 bravery award, as well the security industry gold medal for bravery awarded in 1998. He was nominated for the Mail & Guardian Drivers of Change Award in 2008.
